Personal
Biography
Brad
was born in Augusta,
Georgia and is one of four children in his family. Now 27, Brad
thinks back to what it was like growing up with two sisters
and a brother--“Living in a large family has always been
a lot of fun, and believe me, there is never a dull or quiet
moment at our house!” He adds, “Growing up, we all
wanted to be unique in our own way, and we wanted to find out
who we were apart from each other.” When he was young,
Brad decided to play golf in his free time. After trying many
sports, he discovered that he was best at golf, so he stuck
with it, and ended up playing in college. “I was never
the strongest or tallest guy on the field,” he says with
a grin, “so golf was a perfect fit for me!” When
he was young, Brad always wanted to play college golf and to
pursue it as a career. However, it was in college that Brad
discovered a new passion in music.
Brad bought his first guitar when he was in high school,
and with the help of a friend, began learning how to play.
“I just learned how to play songs from my favorite musicians”
he says, “and would play for anyone who wanted to listen!”
In high school Brad was involved in his church youth group
and with Young Life. He soon found himself playing and singing
in front of his youth group and Young Life group each week.
“I really found a home with my friends at church and
in Young Life, and I will never forget my time with them.”
Brad went
to Georgia College and continued singing and playing
for churches, Young Life camps, campus ministries, coffee
houses, and friends. He had a strong desire to write songs about his own
experiences in life. He says, “I slowly started writing
songs about my life and my faith and I shared these with my
closest friends and family. They immediately began encouraging
me to continue writing and to record an album.” So,
on the advice of his friends and family, Brad embarked on
the journey to record an album of the songs he had written
in college. “For the last few years I’ve dreamed
of what it would be like to record an album, but I never thought
my dreams would become a reality.”
Now, after graduating from college, Brad’s dream has
come true with his pursuit of music. When he is not
playing music and touring, he serves on staff with a brand new
event based fundraising company. The program is called
The Boosterthon Fun Run, and it emphasizes Fitness, Education,
and Character. The Boosterthon Fun Run serves approximately 300
schools across the southeast each year. Brad says
"I love working with the Fun Run because I get a chance
to speak life to students and impact them everyday by teaching
them fitness and character. I couldn't ask for a better day
job!"
